Never in the history of mankind had we been exposed to so much idiocy. This happens not because the number of cretin has increased but the means by which one could show his or her stupidity have multiplied, thanks to a burgeoning information industry.

I had this thought flashed through my mind a few days before, when I was reading posts in the FreeMedia and Malaysia-Today. I said to myself, "Gosh, why are there so many stupid comments?" and came to that conclusion after some contemplation.
Once I read the similar statement:
Spam and all the annoying statements are the by-product of freedom of speech. We might not like it, but it is there and essential for freedom.
